C02 & Emissions

We're reducing CO2 emissions by using electric vans, optimising delivery routes with OptioRoute software, and switching to hybrid sales vehicles. Efficient warehouse systems minimise transportation and waste, while partnerships with local suppliers reduce transport distances.

C02 & Emissions

To reduce CO2 emissions, we have implemented several key initiatives, including integrating fully electric vans into the delivery fleet for emissions-free operations and using OptioRoute software to optimise delivery routes, cutting mileage, fuel consumption, and emissions. All company sales vehicles have been transitioned to hybrid models, reducing fossil fuel reliance while maintaining travel flexibility. In the warehouse, fully barcoded pick-and-pack systems and real-time stock control improve efficiency, minimising unnecessary transportation and waste. Additionally, collaborations with local suppliers help reduce transportation distances, further lowering emissions.

Scope 1,2 & 3 Emissions

Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions are categorised as:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy
  • Scope 3: Other indirect emissions across the value chain

1Scope 1 Emissions

These include emissions from IG Group’s company-owned vehicles and equipment:

    • Replacement of traditional vehicles with electric and hybrid options directly reduces Scope 1 emissions.
    • Transitioning delivery vans to electric models further minimises direct emissions within warehouses.

2Scope 2 Emissions

Indirect Emissions from Energy Use:

    • Energy-efficient lighting and systems in our facilities lower emissions related to electricity consumption.
    • Plans to secure a REGO (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin) certificate will ensure that all electricity used at IG Group comes from renewable sources.

3Scope 3 Emissions

Value Chain Emissions:

    • Collaborating with sustainable suppliers who are reducing their own emissions.
    • Offering products with a lower carbon footprint, such as those made with recycled materials, further reduces emissions across the value chain.

This graph displays our CO2 offset percentage for each month in 2024.

We are currently at 50% offset, with a goal of 100% by 2030.

In 2024, our efforts have saved a total of 168,162 kg of CO2.
